Dear Yebbers,

In light of your constant support and contribution to Yebber, we have decided to reward all of you the best way we can think of.

Please note that with effect from 1 October 2009, we have revised our Yebber$ expiration policy.

Highlighted are the main changes:
Yebbers get to keep their Yebber$ for two years if they are active.

If a Yebber is inactive for 3 months, our system will expire Yebber$ earned one year ago.

Basically, this means you have two whole years to accumulate Yebber$ to cash out or exchange for gifts, unless you have not written a single valid review for 3 months. If an ambassador or admin flags your review as not counted, this will not be a valid review.

If you stopped reviewing in April 2009, then on July 2009 (3 months later), we will expire all Yebber$ you earned before April 2008.

What this means is that you get to keep one year’s worth of Yebber$ whether you are active or not, but if you stay active, you get to keep all your Yebber$ for much longer!

Besides having the ability to favorite businesses that you like, we are introducing the ability for you guys to favorite reviews!

Now you can favorite specific reviews that you love and get back to it later through ‘My Profile’ and you can also check out what reviews your friends love through their profiles.

PM Notification

Besides receiving email notifications when you have a PM (private message), we have included a graphic to inform you on Yebber.com when you have a new PM!

We recognize the need for a faster surfing experience and we are introducing tabs and sub-tabs to give each page lesser clutter and improve loading times. All hail faster pageloads!

Business listing categories are now all located on a single page and can be expanded or retracted. See what you want to see!

Improved Search Bar

Yebber introduced location based search back in September 2008 and we have improved it even further. Besides the swanky new look, the left input field has an auto-complete feature. Searching made easier!

You Yebbers are important to us and how better to show how we value you than to give you guys your very own tab! Under the ‘Community’ tab, you can find sub-tabs like ‘Top Y$ Earners’ and ‘Popular Yebbers’. We even included new pages to reward the active Yebbers. Active members with shop urls or blogs will be featured on the sub-tabs, ‘Bloggers’ & ‘Shop owners’.

If you’ve noticed recently, that some of the members had been posting reviews with videos. They’re the pilot batch of members who were helping us test the system out. And Yebber is happy to announce that all members are now able to upload your homemade videos of the places you’ve been to on Yebber!

This is where the new video upload box is…

at the bottom of all listing on Yebber.

To reduce waiting time, it is advisable to upload your video before you start typing your review. You may continue to write your review while the video is being uploaded.

When your video has uploaded completely, you will see this appearing at the ‘Upload Video’ section…

When the video has finished uploading and you’ve finished writing your review, you can submit it as usual. Do not submit your review if the video is still uploading. This will affect the posting of your review and upload of your video will not be complete. The uploaded video will only appear after moderation is approved by the Yebber moderators.

This is where the video will show once it is approved.

You will also earn Yebber$ when you upload your videos with your review. Each approved video will earn Y$5.

Please also take note of the terms and conditions for video upload at Yebber:

1. User must own all rights of the video uploaded.
2. Only approved video will earn Y$5.
3. Video which is dark, blurred, out of focus, or made of only still images, still video or of no relation to the review will not be approved.
4. Video uploaded has to be at least 10 seconds long. Anything shorter than 10 seconds will not be approved.
5. Yebber reserves all rights to approve or reject videos uploaded by all members.

To improve the search feature on Yebber, the team has created a new search bar for our users. You can now search for businesses, services or keywords you want to look for and define a nearby location that you want. For example, if you are searching for a place for manicure around Orchard, you just need to type ‘manicure’ in the ‘Search For’ box, and ‘Orchard’ in the ‘Near’ box. This will list down all the listings with keyword ‘manicure’ in the review, tags or listing information.
