Congratulation to Singapore! Singapore will host the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010. The result was unveiled by IOC President Jacques Rogge at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Singapore beats Moscow in the final by 53 votes to 44.

About 20 Yebbers were anticipating fireworks when the announcement was announced at the Padang last night. Everyone was filled with excitement while waiting for someone to announce the news. Shortly after 7pm, Jean shouted, “We WON!”, everyone turned and shot her a look. She exclaimed that we’ve won the bid for the Youth Olympic Games! Everyone was happy and excited about the news. We then started discussing about the things that will happen from now till 14 August 2010. And the excitement and security issues that will be in place during that period.

No matter what, I’m sure everyone will be cheering and the excitement will be very high as we all look forward to the Games! It’s going to be an exciting 2010!
