Amendment to Yebber$ Exchange Policy

First introduced in 1 September 2007, members at Yebber.com are able to accumulate Yebber$ (Y$) when they participate in Yebber.com. These activities include writing reviews, adding new businesses, posting photos in their reviews and others. And since 1 January 2008, members who had accumulated the minimum required Y$500 were allowed to exchange their Y$ for cash.

After 5 months of implementation and monitoring, the Yebber team saw a need to make the following adjustments:

With effect from 1 June 2008, the exchange of Y$ will be disabled from the 1st to the 7th of each month.

As the computation of the Y$ exchange rate involves a series of data at the end and the beginning of each month, the team needs time to compile these data and calculate the most accurate exchange rate for the month. To facilitate in the computation process, we need to have the most accurate amount of Y$ accumulated by our members in the previous month. To prevent any miscalculation, the team has decided to disable the withdrawal of Y$ during this computation period. This temporary disabling will not affect members’ earnings during this period. All deserving new businesses and reviews added will continue to earn the respectives Y$.

With effect from 1 July 2008, members will need to maintain a minimum of Y$200 in their Y$ account.

The Y$ was originally meant to award Yebbers who contribute reviews and its associated business address and pictures. In May 2008, we were alerted by a massive entry of business addresses without reviews. Recently we saw many business addresses entered but are either incomplete or without the postal code. We do not encourage postings of repeated businesses which have little relevance to the possibility of reviews. Examples of such businesses are 7-11, Cheers, Petrol stations, Banks, etc. Unless there are genuine reviews in these places, we appreciate that members post instead businesses that are unique and would ultimately benefit the Yebber community.

Since Y$ is awarded on a real-time basis, we are not able to prevent members from exchanging their Y$ before we can verify the accuracy of the business addresses and the quality of the reviews, especially if the reviews are written at the end of the month. As such, the balance Y$ may end up negative when the moderators start to disqualify the reviews and business addresses entered after the accumulated Y$ is exchanged. In view of this, Yebber team was planning to award Y$ on a delayed mode, that is, award Y$ after Yebber team has verified the entry. However, it is impossible for the team to monitor the entry on a real-time basis and therefore, the team has decided to implement a Y$200 residual value.

We also see some Yebbers reaching the claimable amount of Y$500 and the implementation of the residual value might possibly delay their claims. As such, the team has decided to top up Y$200 to all Yebbers who have, in their account, at least Y$500 claimable amount as at 30 June 2008. This is provided you do not redeem any Y$ in the month of June. So, if you are just a few reviews away from Y$500, act fast to enjoy this bonus.

On top of the above bonus top-up for members who meet the criteria, we will be rewarding all our Ambassadors an additional Y$100 top-up, that is Y$300 instead of Y$200.

Reminder:
Daily limit of 7 new reviews per member per day still applies. And with immediate effect, there will also be a daily limit of 10 new repeated business posting per member per day. When the limit exceeds, Y$ will not be rewarded.

Yebber reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions for Yebber$ and change the Yebber$ associated to each activity as and when is required without notice given to the member. The Yebber$ is computed and awarded to members at the sole discretion of Yebber.com’s team and there should be no dispute over the computation method at any time.

  2. yeah i was quite puzzled initially when i heard abt the “new rule” from the others, and also were nearly going to cash out. Yes, like bobo i also see my ugly side. lol!

Thanks for the additional 100Y$, although its not much, but i appreciate the goodwill.

And i think Yebber shld have applied the 10 repeated biz rule earlier. but its better to be late than never. haha

  3. dreammerchant Says:

What if you have SGD $30 worth of yebber dollars in your account? Is the residual value rule in this case, included?

  4. Hi dreammerchant,

The residual value is applicable to all.

For example, if you have Y$830 in your account now, you can only cash out Y$630. The system will not allow full withdrawal of the Y$ accumulated.
